When choosing your darts equipment, you should never settle for anything which is not going give you the best opportunity of playing well. This includes both your darts and the dartboard you are using.
There is no point in having a great set of darts you enjoy using when every time your dart meets the wire on your dartboard, it drops to the floor.
The surface quality of your dartboard is very important, as you want it to accept the dart nicely and not become damaged quickly. This is one great feature of the Kenyan sisal dartboard, but another key aspect of this dartboard is the blade wire spider system.
This means the wires are not flat against the dartboard, as you will find in many other dartboards and comes with a triangular profile, which points away from the dartboard.
The result is a very narrow wire surface and this means the chances of your dart hitting it full on and causing a bounce out are very slim.
However, what happens if your dart does hit the wire?
Well, thanks to the special triangular shape of the blade wire you will notice how the dart actually slides down the wire and into the board more often than it bounces out.
You must be very unlucky to see a bounce out when using this dartboard because most of the darts will deviate off the wire and into the board. This is great, especially when you have a close grouping of darts in the triple 20 for example.
The last thing you want is to see two darts land inside the treble 20, only for the third to hit the wire and drop to the floor. Using this dartboard, you will see more darts slide inside the intended target and that could be the difference between 60 points and nothing.
If you notice when looking at or using budget dartboards, the wire frame is attached to the board using staples. This is another means of seeing your darts hit the floor instead of landing in the board.
Staples only add to the size of the wiring on a dartboard and increase the area of the board you do not want to hit. There is nothing more infuriating than seeing your dart hit a staple and drop to the floor, especially when it is landing inside the target area.
Thankfully, you can choose a staple-free dartboard, which means you never need to worry about seeing your dart hit a staple and drop out of the board. This not only means higher scores for you but also less damage to your darts, which is great.
So, if you are fed up of seeing your darts hit the wire and bounce out, it is time you invested in a new blade wire spider dartboard, staple free. It is the perfect way to take your scoring to the next level.
