As you start improving your darts skills by practicing more and more, you will realize that darts come in a great variety of shapes, lengths and may have different weights. Heavier darts are easier to manage due to their weight. Lightweight darts 

Lightweight darts are not favored by many players, although some darters find that this type of darts actually benefits them. Light darts weigh somewhere around 17 - 18 grams. According to the game’s rules, the lightest darts can weigh 12 grams

Lightweight darts are harder to manage because you have to put in more effort to make them land in the desired spot on the dartboard. However, if you are a vigorous player who’s used to throwing darts with force, then these lightweight models can benefit you. Another advantage of these darts is that they allow you to achieve tighter groupings because, due to their reduced size, they take up less space on the board.
